LIPOSUCTION

Liposuction, sometimes known as lipo, is a fat-removal operation performed in plastic surgery. There is no evidence that it affects weight beyond a few months, and it does not appear to impact obesity-related disorders. Liposuction is the most popular cosmetic surgery in the world. It is important to note that liposuction does indeed permanently remove fat cells from the body, but the body has to be well maintained after surgery.

The following body areas are commonly targeted for liposuction treatment:

  • abdomen

  • back

  • buttocks

  • chest

  • inner knees

  • hips

  • flanks (love handles)

  • neckline and the area under the chin

  • thighs, both “saddlebags,” or outer thighs, and inner thighs

  • upper arms

The person needs to be over 18 years of age and in good health. Those with circulation or blood flow problems, such as coronary artery diseasediabetes, or a weakened immune systems should not undergo liposuction.
